The Salvador Option ?

The link is to the news article that suggests more misguided policy. I guess it comes as no suprise given the murderous nature of the criminal in chief and his administration.

Are you ready yet ?

When will the national I.D. cards start? What about the Ultraviolet tats? Wake up folks! How much longer are you going to wait? A gang of thieves and murderers has taken over the government! Impeach them! Now! Bushco is hurdling down the path of destruction. The constitution means nothing to the republicans or the democrats! It sure as hell means nothing to Negroponte and the intelligence community.
Newsweek has a very interesting article that points to the future in our beloved republic.

Mishlei One

Some say David wrote this for his son Solomon, I would suggest our country has forgotten the truth. Many times a bit of careful reading in the Tanahk might have been wise. It is our moral, christian responsibility to warn of these blood thirsty criminals that have taken over our country.
1. To know wisdom and discipline, to comprehend words of understanding;
2. To receive the discipline of wisdom, righteousness, justice, and equity;
3. To give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth.
4. Let the wise man hear and increase learning. The understanding man shall acquire wise counsels
5. to understand an allegory and a figure, the words of the wise and their riddles.
6. fools despise wisdom and discipline.
7. Hearken, my son, to the discipline of your father, and do not forsake the instruction of your mother;
8. for they are a wreath of grace for your head and a necklace for your neck.
9. My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent;
10. if they say, "Come with us; let us lie in wait for blood; let us hide for the innocent, without cause;
11. let us swallow them up alive like the grave, and the whole ones like those who descend into the pit.
12. We will find all precious possessions; we will fill our houses with plunder.
13. Cast your lot among us; we will all have one purse"
14. my son, do not go on the way with them; restrain your foot from their path,
15. for their feet run to evil, and they hasten to shed blood.
16. For the net is scattered without cause in the eyes of all winged fowl,
17. but they lie in wait for their blood; they hide for their lives.
18. So are the ways of everyone who commits robbery; it will take away the life of its owner.
19. Wisdoms shout in the street; in the squares she gives forth her voice.
20. She calls at the head of the noisy streets; she utters her words at the entrances of the gates in the city;
21. "How long will you naive ones love naivete, and the scoffers covet scoffing, and the fools hate knowledge?
22. You shall repent because of my reproof; behold! I will pour out my spirit to you; I will let you know my words.
23. Since I called you and you refused, I stretched out my hand and no one listened,
24. and you have made nothing of all my advice, and you did not desire my reproof
25. I, too, will laugh at your calamity, I will scoff when what you fear comes;
26. when your fear comes like a storm, and your calamity comes like a whirlwind; when trouble and straits come upon you.
27. Then they will call me, and I will not answer; they shall seek me, and they shall not find me.
28. Because they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord;
29. they did not desire my advice, they despised all my reproof-
30. they will eat of the fruit of their way, and from their counsels they will be sated,
31. for the backsliding of the naive shall slay them, and the tranquility of the fools shall cause them to perish.
32. But he who hearkens to me shall dwell confidently and shall be tranquil from the fear of harm."

Oh MY OH MY?!

Bushco and the low wage conservatives have definitely lost their way. Where to start, where to start. imigration proposal, putting troops on the border ( no matter the pretext is a bad, bad, bad idea! The guest worker and amnesty proposal is a ray of sunshine that congress will shoot in the heart or let wither on the vine. This do NOTHING congress will probably keep up the usual.
Except for public relations the whole 30-40 minutes was waste in the final analysis.

Am I missing something with Venezuela? Is bushco trying to cut off its oilly nose to spite its rhetorical face? How stupid can the administration be? Sanction chavez for not doing enough to fight terrorism? Please! As fast as bushco is creating terrorists how can anyone keep up? Why the propaganda? Are we gonna invade venezuela now? I thought this criminal was going to get us entangled in Iran? We need to get this maniac out of the catbird seat! Impeach him and send him to prison!
Let me give you a link to a venezuelan perspective to this nightmare.

No Suprise there

shelby_spong,0.jpg You scored as Emergent/Postmodern. You are Emergent/Postmodern in your theology. You feel alienated from older forms of church, you don't think they connect to modern culture very well. No one knows the whole truth about God, and we have much to learn from each other, and so learning takes place in dialogue. Evangelism should take place in relationships rather than through crusades and altar-calls. People are interested in spirituality and want to ask questions, so the church should help them to do this.

No power?

We as a nation are hurdling toward disaster. We rely on countries hostile to us( although they are not hostile to our money, more on another post) to supply our oil. We acknowledge the problem exsist but refuse to address any real solution. The last republican idea was only evidence of the failure and complicity of the republicans. Conservation is and must be the nations first priority. We cannot continue to drive fuel hogs. Second we must begin to invest in the alternative fuel markets. I know bushco has given this lip service. ( I would remind you that most of the scientist working on alt.fuels at our own oak ridge labs were layoff by bushco budget cuts, to pay for tax breaks, along with social services but that is another post) I understand that a few were hastily rehired so w could have a photo opportunity. Third part of the issue has been the public ignorance of alt fuels. Here locally we get a bit of press(many thanks) but not nationally.
Fourth China is now in the catbird seat. The chinese determine the price of oil these day and into the forseeable future. China has a growing economy and the funds(they can thank the U.S. consumers mad dash to wallyworld for a big piece of it) Odd how americans are so enthusiatic to fund our own decline.
The green party supports a carbon tax to address the climate problem fueled by our excessive emissions. We must take up the mindset for sustainabilty. We must directly address energy , transportation, and agriculture. We cannot continue down this road except to our ruin. Here is a link to get more info.

The Most Valuable Thing in the World

Sozan, a Chinese Zen master, was asked by a student: "What is the most valuable thing in the world?"

The master replied: "The head of a dead cat."

"Why is the head of a dead cat the most valuable thing in the world?" inquired the student.

Sozan replied: "Because no one can name its price."

A gentle reminder

Every once in a while it just makes sense to reflect.

The Weight of a Snowflake

"Tell me the weight of a snowflake," a coalmouse asked a wilddove.

"Nothing more than nothing," the dove answered.

"In that case I must tell you a marvelous story," the coalmouse
said. "I sat on a fir branch close to the trunk when it began to
snow. Not heavily, not in a raging blizzard. No, just like in a dream,
without any violence at all. Since I didn't have anything better to do,
I counted the snowflakes settling on the twigs and needles of my
branch. Their number was exactly 3,471,952. When the next snowflake
dropped onto the branch--nothing more than nothing--as you say--the
branch broke off."

Having said that, the coalmouse ran away.

The dove, since Noah's time an authority on peace, thought about
the story for a while. Finally, she said to herself, "Perhaps there is
only one person's voice lacking for peace to come to the world."

Is that voice yours?

Quote

"The national government will maintain and defend the foundations on which the power of our nation rests. It will offer strong protection to Christianity as the very basis of our collective morality. Today Christians stand at the head of our country. We want to fill our culture again with the Christian spirit. We want to burn out all the recent immoral developments in literature, in the theatre, and in the press-in short, we want to burn out the poison of immorality which has entered into our whole life and culture as a result of liberal excess during recent years."
An Interesting definition follows:
"In reality, given the current state of the US, I'd say that the G.O.P. is more "liberal" than the DNC (meaning the "Democratic Party", I believe) simply because it's the G.O.P. that's trying to change much of the 'status quo' here in the U.S., by banning abortion, bringing prayer back to schools, cutting taxes, (killing Social Security, Medicare, the Estate Tax, Public Schools, Public Television, Bankruptcy protection, Privacy Rights), etc. I would have to label that as quite "Liberal" given that the DNC is trying to maintain more of the status quo."
Then Helen Keller quotes we just do not hear much anymore:
"I had once believed that we were all masters of our fate-that we could mould our lives into any form we pleased . . . I had overcome deafness and blindness sufficiently to be happy, and I supposed that anyone could come out victorious if he threw himself valiantly into life's struggle. But as I went more and more about the country I learned that I had spoken with assurance on a subject I knew little about. I forgot that I owed my success partly to the advantages of my birth and environment . . . Now, however, I learned that the power to rise in the world is not within the reach of everyone."
